A loving father and grandfather

 

SAUGUS  — John (Jack) Anthony Spadafora Sr., 78, of Saugus, died on Nov. 10, 2022 while surrounded by his family.

Jack was born in Chelsea, and was the loving son of the late Joseph and Eveyln Spadafora. He was educated in the Malden and Melrose school systems. He graduated from Tufts University in 1965 with a degree in Civil Engineering and graduated from the Yale Bureau of Highway Traffic in 1967.

Jack was a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his son, John Jr., and his wife, Joy, of Arlington; his daughters Dorothy Skirzenski, of Middletown, Rhode Island; Julia Badala and her husband, Derek, of Spring Hill, Florida; and Elizabeth Gustin and her husband, Scott, of Monkton, Vermont. Jack also leaves behind his former wife and mother of his four children, Dorothy Spadafora of Lynnfield, and their 10 grandchildren: Hunter, Jacob, and Trevor Spadafora; Matthew and Andrew Skirzenski; Corey, Olivia (Lex), and Elizabeth (Liz) Badala; and Nathaniel and William Gustin. Jack also leaves behind his sister Evelyn (Lyn) Keough and her husband, Joe, of Melrose; his brother Kevin Spadafora and his wife, Mary, of Wakefield; and Teri Bowman and her husband, Tom, of Londonderry, New Hampshire. He also leaves behind other family and friends that loved him.

Jack participated in many Mass General Hospital (MGH) health studies and also donated his brain to MGH.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 758 Salem St., Lynnfield, MA (Corner of Salem and Grove Streets). Doors open at 9:30 a.m., and the Mass starts at 10 a.m.  Immediately following will be a graveside burial at the Forest Hill Cemetery, Forest Hill Ave., Lynnfield, MA.
