Accomplished singer and performer

NORTH READING — Louis Bertolami, 85, of North Reading and Naples, Florida, formerly of Lynnfield, died at home on Wednesday, June 17, 2020. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Malden on May 15, 1935, he was the son of Salvatore and Mary (LaSpina) Bertolami. He was a graduate of Everett High School and Northeastern University’s School of Engineering, where he also received an MBA. Lou was a loyal NU alumnus and Golden Graduate as well as a major organizer of alumni activities in Naples, Florida. He was especially proud to have written the Northeastern Alma Mater.

Lou is survived by his wife of almost 55 years, Camille (DeSisto). He also survived by his son David and his wife Tammi of Fremont, New Hampshire; and his son Scott and his wife Frances of Mansfield. His four wonderful grandsons David, Nick, Owen and Drew also survive Lou.

Lou had a deep love of music and was an accomplished singer and performer in a variety of genre. He was choir director at St. Maria Goretti Church in Lynnfield for almost 20 years, where his voice was in demand for many weddings and funerals. He was also a member of St. John the Evangelist choir in Naples, Florida, and sang with Naples Orchestra and Chorus and Naples Opera as well as New Hampshire Music Festival.

Lou’s funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Maria Goretti Church, 112 Chestnut St., Lynnfield on Tuesday. Visitation for relatives and friends was at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday.
