A very special man who loved to travel

LYNNFIELD — Matthew F. Allison, 37, of Lynnfield, died on Saturday, December 11 after a courageous 16-year battle with acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

Matthew was born in Melrose on April 3, 1984, and was the loving son of Steven and Kathleen (Brennan) Allison.

Matthew was a graduate Lynnfield High School, Class of 2002, and the University of Massachusetts, Class of 2006. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout Troop with Troop 48 in Lynnfield, and loved to travel. His favorite trips were to Disney World and Ireland. Matthew also enjoyed playing the guitar in his free time.

In addition to his parents, Matthew was the cherished brother of Jamie Allison and his wife, Yuko; Steven Allison and his fiancé, Lori Smith; Timothy Allison and his wife, Marissa; and Kaitlyn Consoletti and her husband, Gregg. He was the devoted uncle of Ren Allison; Charlotte and Benjamin Consoletti; and Willow and Finley Allison and the love of his life Carolyn Gross. Many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive him. He was very special and inspired all who knew him.

The family would like to thank Dr. Robin Joyce and the nurses on Feldberg 7 BIDMC, especially Hannah and Kathleen, for all their love and support.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. A funeral service will take place at the Funeral Home on Friday at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield.
