Enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and Aruba

WAKEFIELD — Nancy E. Douglas, 64, a longtime resident of Wakefield, died Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home after a period of failing health.

Born in Everett on January 12, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Helen (Dwyer) Sullivan.

Nancy was raised in Malden and was a graduate of Malden High School, Class of 1973. Later in life, she went back to school and attended Bunker Hill Community College. Nancy loved dancing, hiking, swimming, and long walks with her beloved dog, Dylan, who passed away last year at the age of 14. Nancy and Dylan shared a special bond and he was always by her side. She also loved to travel, most especially her trips to Hawaii and Aruba. Nancy had most recently worked as an account manager for AVNET Electronics in Peabody and had also been a lifeguard at MDC Pools in her younger years.

She was the beloved wife of Michael R. Douglas, with whom she shared 30 wonderful years of marriage. She was the cherished sister of Patricia Kuzdzal and her husband Thomas of Tewksbury; Maureen Sullivan of Derry, New Hampshire; Kathleen Sullivan Mallon and her late husband William Mallon of Malden; and Claire Gesele and her husband Thomas of West Islip, New York. She was the daughter-in-law of Arthur and Geraldine (Mikolajewski) Douglas of Lynnfield and the sister-in-law of Robert Douglas and his wife Lisa of Lynnfield. She is also survived by one nephew, many nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Maria Goretti Church, 112 Chestnut St., Lynnfield at 10 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
