LYNN — Paul F. Murphy, Jr., 54, of Lynn, died Wednesday, April 24, 2019 surrounded by his family at the Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln.
Born in Winchester on November 30, 1964, he was the son of Paul F. Murphy Sr. and Margaret (Sands) Murphy of Londonderry, New Hampshire, formerly of Lynnfield.
Paul was raised in Lynnfield and was a graduate of Lynnfield High School, Class of 1983 and went on to attend Salem State University. He went to work for American Mutual Insurance/APG for close to 30 years. Later in life, Paul pursued a passion for computers and attended Porter and Chester to receive a certificate in information technology. Paul also had a passion for muscle cars and enjoyed working on them. He also loved sci-fi and “Star Trek.”
In addition to his parents, Paul is survived by his wife Christine V. (Medina) of Danvers; his sister Colleen Murphy of Lynn; his brother, Sean Murphy and his wife Kelly of Beverly; his uncle, John R. Murphy of Virginia; and his aunt, Lorraine Thomson and her husband Robert of Lynnfield.
His funeral was held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Maria Goretti Church, 112 Chestnut St., Lynnfield. Visitation for relatives and friends at the funeral home was on Monday. Interment took place at Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield.
