LYNNFIELD — Roger C. Lummus Jr., 83, passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 31, 2017 surrounded by his family.

He was born February 7, 1934 and was a lifelong Lynnfield resident.

He was the husband of the late Gloria (Chadbourne) Lummus and the son of the late Roger and Helen Lummus. He is survived by his daughter Cynthia Lummus and husband Joseph Zaraschi of Essex, Connecticut. He is also survived by his sons William and Jonathan Lummus, both of Lynnfield. He is also survived by his grandson Daniel Lummus and his wife Kerri of Boxford. He also leaves behind his sister Elizabeth Keenan of Florida, and sister-in-law Carol Wadsworth of Lynnfield.

Roger was a successful businessman and believed in working hard and helping others. He enjoyed all sports, particularly car racing, local history, politics, and spending time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all those he encouraged and mentored throughout the years.

Roger’s funeral will be held at the Centre Congregational Church, 5 Summer St. Lynnfield on Saturday Jan. 13, at 3 p.m. Interment will be private.

Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
