Talented seamstress, enjoyed reading and word search puzzles

LYNNFIELD — Susan A. Connell, 79, of Lynnfield, died on Friday, September 4, 2020 at the Tuft’s Medical Center in Boston.

Born in Hyannis on February 11, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Eleanor J. (Howland) DeCosta and stepdaughter of the late John DeCosta.

Susan was a graduate of Barnstable High School, Class of 1959. She was a retired pre-school teacher in Reading and Lynnfield. Susan enjoyed reading and word search puzzles. She was a very talented seamstress and spent many happy hours with her patterns and books.

Susan was the wife of the late David J. Connell. She is survived by her loving daughter Heidie Flynn and her husband Dan of Leominster, her cherished granddaughter Bailey Flynn and her devoted sister Janet Frederickson and her husband Steven, of Lynnfield. She was also the deeply beloved aunt of Tyler, Cody, Hunter and Kelley Frederickson. Susan was predeceased by her brother Bart Sherman.

Funeral services will be private.
