Accomplished painter loved spending time with family and friends

 

PEABODY — Virginia “Ginny” Margaret (Dalton) Dodwell, 93, of Peabody, passed away on Nov. 10, 2022, with her family by her side.

She was born to the late Hubert David Dalton and Germaine Yvonne (Lalonde) Dalton, Aug. 27, 1929, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She immigrated to Charlestown at the age of 4.

Ginny married the late Thomas G. Dodwell in 1950, and together they lived in Lynnfield until his passing in 2003.  Ginny’s son Wayne survives her. Six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive her. Ginny’s sister, Carol, and many nieces and nephews also survive her. Ginny was predeceased by her loving husband, her beloved son David, and her sister Loretta.

Ginny was an accomplished painter and was very involved in her community. She was a long-time member of the Danvers Art Association, the Lynnfield Art Guild and she was a prominent fixture in the Brooksby Village community art room. More than anything, Ginny loved spending time with her family and friends, whether it was sharing a meal or a lengthy phone conversation. Ginny was immensely proud of her family, and left behind nothing but beautiful memories.

Relatives and friends are respectively invited to visit with the family on Friday, Nov. 18, 2022, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 127 Summer Street, Lynnfield, prior to the service which will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private.  Arrangements are by Paul C.
