PEABODY — Madeline A. (Flanagan) DeRocco, 81, of Peabody, formerly of Melrose, died at the Rosewood Nursing and Rehab Center in Peabody on Nov. 6, 2017.

Madeline was born and raised in East Boston and a graduate of St. Rose High School. She was a homemaker and resided in Melrose for 43 years and the past 12 years in Peabody. Madeline loved creating a warm home for her family with baking and cooking. She made friends very easily and enjoyed spending family time in Vermont and on Cape Cod. Madeline’s family was the most important part of her life.

She was the beloved wife of the late Patrick A. DeRocco for many years. Loving mother of Karen A. DeRocco and her loving companion Cedric of Manchester, New Hampshire, Cheryl A. Thompson and her husband Kenneth of Peabody, Nancy DeRocco of Peabody, Patrick A. DeRocco, Jr. of Wakefield, and Michael DeRocco and his wife Aida of Danvers. Cherished grandmother of Laura Thompson, Christine Morrissey, Kenneth, Patrick and Evan Thompson, Courtney Ouellette, Ismael, Joshua and Ashley DeRocco. Proud great grandmother of Maya and Amelia. Caring sister of Arlene Avola and Paul Flanagan.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of the Incarnation 425 Upham St., Melrose on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 10 a.m.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.  To send a message of condolence please visit www.gatelyfh.com.
