OBIT_Madhu-Midha_MEL_webWINCHESTER — Madhu Midha, 63, of Winchester, passed away at home on February 28, 2017.

Madhu was born and raised in New Delhi, India. She graduated from Delhi University with a bachelor of arts degree in 1973. Shortly thereafter, she founded a Montessori school which quickly grew to a class size of 50 students. In 1978 she married Dr. Salil Midha and moved to the United States.

Madhu was a founding board member of the Boston Cardiac Foundation and volunteered with numerous other charities in the greater Boston area. When she wasn’t dedicating her time to helping others, she loved playing tennis and golf. A long-time member of the Bellevue Golf Club of Melrose, she won the ladies championship for both the 9 hole and 18 hole golf leagues. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Madhu is lovingly remembered by her husband, Salil, her daughter Anjali Midha, her son Gaurav Midha and her daughter Dr. Monica Midha as well as her brother Shashi Raj Ahuja of New Delhi, India; her sister Vinay Sethi of Faridabad, India; her sister Sushil Dhiman of New Delhi, India; her sister Santosh Chawla of Houston, Texas, and her cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A visitation was held on Wednesday, March 1 at the Gately Funeral Home, Melrose. Her funeral service was held on Thursday, March 2 at the Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.
