WAKEFIELD — A 37-year-old Woburn man will be heading to court for multiple motor vehicle-related charges after police stopped the truck he was driving on the Exit 39 off-ramp from Route 128 at about 8:45 last night.

Police said that an officer initially ran a Registry of Motor Vehicles check on the 2009 Ford pickup on Audubon Road. The officer followed the car onto Route 128 heading south. When the RMV query showed that the truck’s registration was suspended for insurance reasons, the officer pulled it over on the off-ramp to North Avenue.

The driver faces charges of driving an uninsured motor vehicle, driving a vehicle with a suspended registration and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Police issued one verbal warning and one written warning to drivers for speeding on Green Street early Friday afternoon.

At about 7:45 p.m. on Friday, Lowell Street woman reported that on multiple occasions she has spotted a drone flying over her house. Police advised her on how to proceed.

At about 9 p.m. on Friday, a woman told police that she had been harassed by a man in a vehicle while walking the Lake. She said that the man, whom she knew, had made an inappropriate gesture towards her while driving by. Police located the man and he denied the accusation.

Just after 9 p.m. on Friday, police responded to Lowell Street after a woman reported being in a verbal dispute following a minor motor vehicle crash. Police assisted the drivers with the exchange of information.

A 24-year-old Lowell man was arrested on a warrant after police stopped a 2006 BMW 325 on Main Street just after 2 a.m. on Saturday. Police stopped the car for having an expired inspection sticker, then determined that a passenger in the vehicle had an active warrant out of Lowell District Court and took the man into custody.

Police went to Avon Street for a reported car crash at about 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. According to police, as a Wilmington woman opened the door of her parked 2010 Chevy Impala, a 2016 Honda CRV driven by a Wakefield woman was driving by and crashed into the door.

Just after 9 p.m. on Saturday, a caller reported a tree branch had fallen into a traffic lane on Main Street. Police moved the branch and notified the DPW.

Police went to the area of Bennett and Traverse streets at about 2:30 p.m. on Sunday after a caller reported two cars parked on the street that hadn’t moved and did not have inspection stickers. The caller declined to give his name to police due to the vehicles possibly being filled with drugs and belonging to the cartels. Police ticketed the vehicles for wrong direction parking.

Just after 2:30 p.m. on Sunday police took a report from a Lowell Street resident regarding the possible past theft of a bracelet from his 1997 Ford Thunderbird. The resident said that he removed the silver bracelet valued at $1,000 while at the beach recently and placed in the the center console of the car. The car was subsequently in a repair shop for a week before the owner realized the bracelet was missing.

Police responded to a construction site on Water Street at about 4:45 p.m. on Sunday after receiving a report of three youths trespassing on the property. Police eventually located the trio around the corner from the site. They were advised to keep out of the construction site and sent on their way.

Police also took reports from several callers who reported hearing explosions, gunshots and loud bangs over the holiday weekend.

The Fire Department responded to 47 calls over the weekend, including 29 for medical aid.

At about 3:15 p.m. on Friday, firefighters and Action Ambulance went to the scene of a three-car crash on the northbound side of Rout 128 near Exit 39. Firefighters assisted the ambulance crew in treating one person who was eventually taken to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

The remaining calls included rescuing a bird stuck in a dryer vent, a malfunctioning ceiling fan, car and residential lockouts and a number of accidental and malfunctioning alarms.
