NCAA Men’s March Madness Bracket 2023

The Wakefield Daily Item is hosting its second annual March Madness bracket contest this year.

Contestants can print and fill out their own bracket or cut out the bracket printed on this page, fill it out and drop it off or mail it to 26 Albion St., by Thursday, March 16 at 10 a.m. Any brackets received after this time will be disqualified. There will be a drop-off box located at the entry of the office for in-person submissions.

The contest is free to play. Each contestant can only submit one bracket. Any contestant who submits more than one bracket will be automatically disqualified. The name and phone number of the contestant must be clearly written somewhere on the bracket.

The winner will be determined by points earned for each correct prediction in various rounds.

The scoring consists of one point for every correct prediction in the first round; two points for every prediction in the second round; four points for the Sweet 16; eight points for the Elite Eight; 16 points for the Final Four; and 32 points for picking the NCAA champion. The bracket that ends up with the most points, wins.

One grand prize of $200 will be awarded to the winner courtesy of Designer Lawn Sprinkler Service.

All contestants must agree to have their photo appear in the Wakefield Daily Item in order to receive the prize.

In addition to the bracket printed today, the Wakefield Daily Item will print the bracket again tomorrow and updated brackets every Tuesday until the Final Four, which will start on Saturday, April 1.

The bracket for this year’s men’s tournament was announced yesterday on Selection Sunday. The four number one seeds are Alabama, Houston, Kansas and Purdue.
