WAKEFIELD — Margaret M. Foley, née Marsden, of Wakefield died on Sunday, Jan. 24 at the Wingate in Reading at the great age of 101.

Born in Boston on Nov. 11, 1914, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Walsh) Marsden.

Mrs. Foley grew up in Charlestown where she was an outstanding athlete and champion swimmer while attending Charlestown High School. She had been a Wakefield resident since 1963 and was a member of St. Florence Parish in Wakefield. She was highly devoted to her family throughout her lifetime.

Mrs. Foley was the wife of the late William L. Kilduff and the late George E. Foley. She is survived by her daughter Maureen O’Keeffe and her husband Paul Ashby of Greensboro, N.C.; her two sons Michael Kilduff and his wife Claudette and Robert Foley all of Bedford, N.H. and her six grandchildren Joanne O’Keeffe, Michelle Foley, Daniel Kilduff, Laurie Horne, Lisa Bazil and Jeffrey Sargent. Mrs. Foley is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three sisters Mary Collins, Sarah Taylor and Estelle Feeney; two brothers John Marsden and Joseph Marsden and one grandchild Corinne Foley.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday, Jan. 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be private.
