Charlestown High graduate had many interests

Obit-Keller-webWAKEFIELD — Margaret Mary Keller, 86, of Wakefield, formerly of Charlestown and Somerville, died Monday, May 23, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, lovingly surrounded by her family.
Born in Everett on April 4, 1930, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Malone) Leahy.
Mrs. Keller was raised in Charlestown and was a graduate of Charlestown High School, Class of 1947. She later moved to Somerville and then to Wakefield in 2002.
She was a member of St. Anne Church in Somerville. She enjoyed reading, walking, going to the theater, watching old black and white films, playing cards and shopping; but above all, loved to spend time with her family.
She was the beloved wife of the late Carroll John Keller. She was the loving mother of Cynthia Ward and her husband Kevin of Wakefield, John Keller and his wife Judith of Braintree, Thomas Keller and his wife Theresa of Plymouth, Stephen Keller of Brockton and his former wife Jeanette Keller of Reading and Suzanne Maffa and her husband Paul of Wakefield. She was the sister and best friend of Mary Virginia Toma and her husband George of Weymouth. She was the adoring grandmother of Hollyann and Andrew Ward, Heidi Keller Phillips, Nicholas, Christopher, Caralyn, Sean, Daniel and Patrick Keller and Timothy and Lyndsey Maffa. She is also survived by seven loving great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings: John Leahy, Helen Dole and Catherine Crawford.
Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 a.m.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
