Former town resident, Red Sox fan

margitceccacci-pic-webWILMINGTON – Margit E. (Courossi) Ceccacci, 94, of Wilmington, formerly of Reading and North Reading, died peacefully at the Bear Hill Nursing Center in Wakefield on Wednesday, April 5. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Ceccacci.

Born in Fairhaven, MA on July 5, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Emmy (Karlson) Courossi. Margit attended school in North Reading until 9th grade and High School in Reading, she was a graduate of Reading High School. Margit worked as a secretary in Boston from 1940 to 1950 and later became a homemaker.

She had no computers or cell phones, she was very old-fashioned and made all of her own clothes. She loved her home in Reading, where she lived there from 1956 to 2014.

Margit loved sewing, gardening and watching T.V., she was a very religious Jehovah’s Witness since 1960. She was an avid Red Sox fan.

Family members include her loving sons, Tony Ceccacci and his wife Jeannette, Alan Ceccacci and Jeffrey Ceccacci; late brother, Roy Courossi and late sister, Sonya Marlowe; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephew.

Calling hours will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Thursday, April 13 from 5 to 7 PM. There will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her memory to the charity of one’s choice.
