READING — Marie Theresa (Palumbo) Roy, 94, a lifelong resident of Reading and a breast cancer survivor passed away on October 30, 2019 at the Masconomet Health Center in Topsfield.
Marie was born in Winchester on September 17, 1925, the daughter of John and Marie (Scalia) Palumbo. Marie was a lifelong member of St. Agnes Church where she was baptized and married. She worked in the cafeteria at Austin Preparatory School for many years before working as a clothes packer for Marshall’s. She enjoyed shopping but most of all enjoyed spending her time with family and friends.
Marie was the beloved wife of the late Edwin R. Roy. Devoted mother of Paul R. Roy of Reading and his girlfriend Denise Alford of Wilmington. Sister of the late John Palumbo. She also leaves her dear friend Marie Jenei of Shirley and her beloved grand-dog Lucky.
Her funeral will be held from the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.), Reading on Tuesday November 5 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Agnes Church 186 Woburn St. Reading at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Wood End Cemetery, Reading.
