Resident of town for 63 years; member of Centre Congregational Church

 

LYNNFIELD — Marion F. (Hoyt) Barnes, 104, of Lynnfield died on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Hathorne Hill Genesis Healthcare Center in Danvers.

Born in Stoneham on June 14, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Arthur F. and Jennie M. (Little) Hoyt.

Mrs. Barnes was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1929. She had been a Lynnfield resident for the past 63 years. Mrs. Barnes was a member of the Centre Congregational Church in Lynnfield and a member of the Goodwill Rebekah Lodge 22 until 2007.

She was married on Jan. 1, 1937 and had celebrated 65 years of marriage to her late husband, Mellen B. Barnes. Mrs. Barnes is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann (Barnes) McIntire of Lynnfield and Freedom, N.H.; her granddaughter, Melinda L. McIntire and her husband David Marshall of Reading; her grandson, William M. McIntire and his wife Elyse of Peabody, and her six great-grandchildren: Brittany McIntire, Derek McIntire, Ryan McIntire and Brianna McIntire, all of Peabody, and Matthew Marshall and Jacob Marshall, both of Reading. She was predeceased by her son, Charles A. Barnes, her brother, George A. Hoyt and her sister, Bertha Petrucci.

Her funeral service will be held at the Centre Congregational Church, 5 Summer St., Lynnfield, on Thursday, May 7 at 11 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the church prior to the service starting at 10 a.m. Interment will be held at Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham.
