WAKEFIELD — Marjorie M. Fazio, 78, a longtime resident of Wakefield, died Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.

Born in Wakefield on June 26, 1940, she was the daughter of Rubin and Irene (Bennett) Surette.

Mrs. Fazio was raised and educated in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1958. She was a past parishioner at St. Joseph Church. She and her husband had owned and operated the family restaurant Fazio’s in Wakefield for a number of years. Above all, Mrs. Fazio was a devoted wife and mother. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed cooking for them, especially on holidays. She also enjoyed vacationing in Aruba.

She was the beloved wife of Roy Fazio. She was the loving mother of Julie Fazio of Revere, Michael Fazio and his wife Kim of Wakefield, David Fazio of Seabrook, N.H., and Joseph Fazio and his wife Shivani Shah of Boston. She was the sister of Barbara Duncan of Wakefield, William Surette of New Hampshire, Ronald Surette of Reading, and the late Donald Surette. She was the cherished grandmother of Randy Fazio of Wakefield. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Friday at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment to follow at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. Arrangements in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
