MELROSE — Donations to the Melrose Emergency Fund topped the $50,000 mark this week, with help from local businesses, including Sexton and Donohue and Dagle Electric.

“We are very grateful to the local businesspeople, such as Mary Sexton and Bill Donhue, who support the Emergency Fund,” said Mayor Rob Dolan. “They know that 100% of their donations go to direct aid to Melrose families, which helps keep our community healthy and strong.”

The Emergency Fund is administered by city staff, through the Mayor’s Office and the Council on Aging, as part of their regular duties, so there are no administration costs.
