A WEEK FILLED with learning, fun and challenges was enjoyed by members of Melrose Troop 615 at BSA Camp Wanocksett on Thorndike Lake, Dublin, NH.

MELROSE — Scouts and scouters (adults) from Melrose Troop 615, Boy Scouts of America (BSA), had a great time at their annual week-long summer camp-out at the BSA Camp Wanocksett on Thorndike Lake, Dublin, NH.

Approximately 210 Scouts from numerous Boy Scout Troops, consisting of both boys and girls, attended this Troop Week.

While earning both Eagle and non-Eagle Merit Badges, Scouts had plentiful opportunities to participate in fun activities such as scuba diving, rifle and shotgun shooting, geocaching, cooking, sailing, kayaking, adventure climbing and rappelling, canoe, bike and backpacking treks, wilderness survival, and search and rescue. A Troop 615 Scout earned the One Mile Swim Patch, one of Scouting’s most physical challenges, for swimming non-stop for a mile in over-the-head open water.
Interested in Scouting? Boys and girls ages 11 to 18 are invited to visit a Troop 615 Meeting on any Tuesday night, 7:15-8:30 pm, at the First Congregational Church (basement level), West Foster Street, Melrose. Adult females having an interest in Scouting and being a Scouter are also welcome. No prior Scouting experience necessary.
