MELROSE—Melrose High’s Div. 2 Final Four medalist volleyball team wrapped up another fantastic trophy-winning season with their annual break up banquet at Bear Hill Golf Club on Thursday, Dec. 9.

It was a fantastic season as the team once again won the Middlesex League and finished 21-3 with a D2 State Final Four appearance. It was their fifteenth consecutive title and the ninth time their earned a sectional title since 2003. Head coach Scott Celli presented awards, including team MVP to Elena Soukos, an All-State player who earned Boston Herald and Boston Globe All-Scholastic today.

Middlesex League All Stars were announced to be: Elena Soukos, Chloe Gentile, Autumn Whelan and Gia Vlajkovic.

The Melrose captains also took the time to honor outgoing junior varsity coach Ryan Schmitt with a prepared speech for thanks for both his service to his country and longtime efforts as coach.
