MELROSE—The Melrose High girls’ track team grabbed bronze at the ML 12 League Championship at Burlington High on June 10. The team earned 77 points, which represented the best showing of any Middlesex Freedom team, and came in third overall behind winner Lexington, followed by Arlington.

Melrose crowned a league champ: Anna Mackey in the 800 meter. Her time of 2:21 bested her closest opponents from Lexington and Burlington. Others medaling included Taylor Pesce in the triple jump (2nd) Julia McAree in the high jump (third), Grace Donohue in the 400 hurdles, and the team’s two relay teams of the 4×400 and 4×800.
