MELROSE — Florence J. (Belmonte) Eriksen, of Melrose, died at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on September 20, 2017 at the age of 84.

Florence was born in Boston, raised in Everett and was a graduate of Everett High School, Class of 1951. She has resided in Melrose since 1963, and was a founding member of the Church of the Incarnation in Melrose. Florence worked as a Secretary for John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston and Tri-City Mental Health Center in Medford in the finance department for many years.  Florence truly enjoyed spending time with friends at coffee hour, Bingo, and Scrabble.

She was the beloved wife of the late George R. Eriksen for 55 years. Loving mother of Ellen Poussard and her husband Ron of Virginia, Margie Genereux and her husband Tom of Sanford, Maine, and Barbara LeClair and her husband Jim of Framingham. Caring sister of Rosemary Cincotta and her husband Bernie of Melrose, and Rita Buonopane of New Hampshire. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, 9 Herbert St., Melrose on Saturday, September 30 at 10 a.m.  Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be private.
