KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Adele M. (Brown) Surette, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Melrose, passed away on July 17, 2021 at the age of 94 surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of the late Edward C. Surette Jr.; reunited with him in Heaven on the 73rd anniversary of their marriage. She grew up in Melrose, the daughter of the late Herbert E. and Dora Mae (Betts) Brown. Adele was an active parishioner of Saint Mary’s Parish of Melrose for many years prior to moving to Knoxville, Tennessee nineteen years ago. Loving mother of Steven Surette and his wife, Karen, of Reading; Liane Surette of TN; Peter Surette and his wife, Kimberly, of Haverhill; Carol Pezzulo and her husband, Frank, of TN; John Surette and his wife, Rose, of NH and Maryann Monaco and her husband, Mark, of TN. Caring sister of Louise Bradley of Melrose, Ester Kumpf of NJ, and the late Herbert Brown, Eileen Dorazio, Melvin Brown, Dorothy Burbine, Margie Moran, Lillian Oskar and Geraldine Reardon. Sister-in-law of the late Harry Surette and his wife, Elizabeth, of Canada. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Adele will always be remembered for her devout faith, loving ways and wonderful sense of humor.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Sacred Hearts Parish, 165 South Main St., Haverhill from 9:30-10:30 a.m. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. following the visitation at Sacred Hearts Parish. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Adele’s name to the charity of your choice.
