A very talented and lovable person who could light up a room

MELROSE — Carol L. (Luciano) Johnson, 72, of Melrose, formerly of Malden and Revere, passed away at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on December 15, 2021.

Carol was born and raised in the North End of Boston and resided there until 1968, when she moved to the Beachmont section of Revere until 1986. Carol also resided in Nashua, Malden and Melrose for many years. She worked as a Homemaker for the elderly and disabled for over 30 years, prior to her retirement. Carol loved animals, cooking, baking, taking care of others and would always light up a room. She was a very talented, lovable and caring person and was famous for her pumpkin bread and German cheesecake. For many years Carol was the pasta lady at family gatherings.

Carol was the beloved wife of John Johnson of Melrose for over 53 years. Loving mother of Robert “Rob” M. Johnson of Melrose and Lori A. Federico and her husband, Paul “Chico” Federico, of Saugus. Cherished grandmother of Joseph and Julia. Caring sister of the late Gerald Luciano and Marie Laughlin. Sister-in-law of Cynthia Testa and her husband, Constantino, of Melrose; Raymond Johnson and his wife, Carol, of Saugus and the late David Johnson and his late wife, Loretta. Caring aunt of Mark Laughlin and his wife, Lisa, of FL. Beloved friend of Helena Zammuto and her daughter, Nadia, of Chelsea. Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and many close friends of many years.

Visiting hours were held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 9-11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
