MELROSE — Carolyn G. (Williams) Walker passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading on September 26, 2018.

Carolyn was born in Arlington on November 1, 1930 to the late John E. and Dolores (Kenny) Williams. She was raised in Medford, attended Lincoln Elementary, Lincoln Junior High School and Medford High School, Class 1948. Mrs. Walker worked in the garment industry before marriage, raised her seven children and then returned to the work force at Century Bank for over 20 years.

Carolyn enjoyed dancing and taking cruises with her late husband Robert. Carolyn loved taking trips to Wells, Ogunquit and York, Maine and going out to lunch with her friends. She enjoyed going to all the local diners, restaurants and bakeries in the Melrose and surrounding areas. Carolyn loved big band music, listening to the old radio shows on Sirus XM radio, was an excellent cook and had a sweet tooth. She also enjoyed going shopping at all the local stores in the area and shopping for Chester.

Mrs. Walker was the beloved wife of the late Robert M. Walker for 52 years. She was the mother of seven children including the late Judith E. Walker and Paul R. Walker. Also survived by seven grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service and burial at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose were private. Arrangements by Gately Funeral Home in Melrose.
