MELROSE — Corinne P. (Leeman) “Maggie” Magnuson, 95, longtime resident of Melrose, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Oosterman’s Rest Home in Wakefield on Wednesday, April 11, 2018.

“Maggie” was born in Boston on May 23, 1922, one of four children of the late Seward and Addie A. (Sears) Leeman. She resided for most of her life on Laurel Street in Melrose. Maggie always liked a good party and was a snappy dresser. Entertaining her four grandchildren gave her great pleasure.

She loved being around children and in her later year’s volunteered with the Melrose High School Band and worked in the school cafeteria. She also traveled extensively with her family and friends, and enjoyed visiting new places.

Corinne is the beloved wife of the late Herbert W. Magnuson. Devoted mother of Pamela J. Kent and her husband Frederick of Rumford, Maine, and the late Richard W. Magnuson. Dear sister of Donald Leeman of Largo, Fla., the late Harold Leeman and the late Richard Leeman. Cherished grandmother of Melissa J. Michaud of North Yarmouth, Maine, and Frederick H. Kent II of Leesburg, Va. Also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, three nieces and nephews, and very special friend Paul Norton of Melrose.

Services will be private. Donations in Corinne’s memory may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston MA 02114.
