MELROSE — Doris L. (Hollett) Mansfield, 92, passed away at MelroseWakefield Hospital on Dec.19, 2020.

Doris was born in Chelsea on March 27, 1928, to the late Clarence and Lillian (Kelloway) Hollett. She moved to Newfoundland at the age of 4 and was raised there until the age of 20.

Doris came back to the United States, where she lived in Malden for many years before spending the last 32 in Melrose. Mrs. Mansfield worked numerous jobs throughout her life: at Jackson Industries in Malden, National Radio, Florence Light Company, Hissel’s in Revere and in the housekeeping department at MelroseWakefield Hospital for 12 years. She liked to sew, travel and enjoyed her trips to New Hampshire.

Doris always had a kind word, had a great sense of humor and was an excellent historian regarding Newfoundland.

She was the beloved wife of the late Eric Mansfield. Loving mother of the late Judith Charbonneau and the late Barbara Mansfield. Cherished grandmother of Kiel Abbott of Bedford. Caring sister of Vivian Billancione, Shirley Koehn, Ruby Hayes and the late Jennie Jenkins. Loving aunt of Florence Jodin, Dorothy Tully, Jimmy Moore and Anna Klinger as well as several other nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID-19, funeral services will be private and will held at a date and time to be announced.
