MELROSE — Dorothy L. Wood Madden of Melrose died on August 8, 1975 in Lorain, OH.
Born December 3, 1948, Dorothy was the beloved daughter of the late John T. and Dorothy L. Wood of Melrose, the cherished sister of Karen E. Schumaker and her husband J. Barry of Brentwood, NH and Jacqueline S. Wood of Mukilteo, WA.
Dorothy was the devoted mother of Joseph C. Madden III of Boston, his wife Gina and their sons Declan and Lochlan, whom she never had the chance to know and love.
Aunt Dottie was the loving aunt of Jack Schumaker of NH and Robert and Daniel Schumaker of MA. She also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Dottie was a graduate of Melrose High School.
Precious memories of Dottie continue to comfort her loved ones. Her sweet and funny personality, her boundless generosity and her loving care for all those she knew are her gifts to us and will remain in our hearts forever.
Dorothy was laid to rest with her family in Lexington. Arrangements by Gately Funeral Home, Melrose.
