MELROSE — Estelle L. (Rizzo) Colborne, 84, passed away at the Arnold House in Stoneham on April 3, 2018.

Estelle was born in Medford on January 9, 1934 to the late Frank and Lucille (Musto) Rizzo. She was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School. Mrs. Colborne was a lifelong resident of Melrose. Prior to her marriage she worked for a bank in Boston and then after raising her children she worked for many years at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital as a secretary in the respiratory therapy department. She was a proud member of the Melrose Emblem Club and enjoyed going to TOPS on Thursday nights and going out to dinner with her husband Leo. But above all, Estelle lived for her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Colborne was the beloved wife of 64 years to Leo V. Colborne Sr. Loving mother of Leo V. Colborne Jr. and his loving partner Patricia Peterleitner of Hopkinton and Scott Colborne and his wife Judy of Melrose. Cherished grandmother of Daryl Colborne, Brent Colborne and his wife Judy, Brian Colborne and his fiancé Kaitlin Ward and Jessica Colborne. Proud great-grandmother of Haley and Camryn. Caring sister of the late John Rizzo and his surviving wife Eleanor Rizzo of West Peabody. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Sunday, April 8, from 2-6 p.m., followed by a funeral service at the funeral home on Monday April 9, at 10 a.m. Interment at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
