A cherished, loving mother and grandmother

FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz — Florence C. (Curreri) Polce, 84, passed away in Fountain Hills on November 8, 2021. Florence was born in Boston on October 12, 1937 to the late Carl and Calogera (Indelicato) Curreri.

Florence is a second generation Sicilian. Her grandparents Giuseppe and Domenica (Scaduto) Indelicato immigrated to the US in 1901 and 1903 and settled in the North End of Boston. She lost her dad at a young age. Her mother later remarried to a merchant marine Juan Aldecoa. He was a wonderful stepfather and eventually grandfather to her children.

In her early years she worked as a seamstress and later retired from Watson Mailing. She married Giuseppe in 1958 and gave birth to two children, John and Claudia. In 1970, the family moved to Everett and later Melrose. For the last three years she lived in California and Arizona.

Florence dedicated her life to her family. She will be greatly missed by them and all that met her on her journey.

Florence was the beloved wife of the late Giuseppe V. Polce. Loving mother of John J. Polce of AZ and Claudia Bertoli and her husband, Leonard, of Melrose. Cherished grandmother of James and Krysta Bertoli, and Giovanna Polce. Loving sister of Ann Robbins and Lenore Giuliani. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Sunday, November 21 from 2 – 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 9 Herbert St. Melrose, on Monday, November 22 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
