MELROSE — Francis J. “Frank” Sullivan, 70, of Melrose, died at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington on Nov. 13, 2018.

Frank was born and raised in Melrose and a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1967, where he was on the gymnastics team. After high school, Frank proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Frank worked as a truck driver for the City of Melrose D.P.W. for 15 years and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 10 years before his retirement.

He resided in Melrose for many years and Malden for several years. He was a member of the Melrose Elks Club, where he enjoyed playing pool with friends. Frank loved playing softball and was an avid Boston sports fan. Frank had a devoted niece Cathy Sullivan whose relationship will always be cherished by his family.

Frank was the father of Thomas J. Sullivan and his wife Jaclyn and Kelli L. Xerri and her husband Charles, all of Michigan. Grandfather of Justin, Layla and Carter. Brother of Mary Lou Lauria and her husband Vincent of Revere, John L. Sullivan and his wife Marsha of Melrose and the late Ann Marie McGee and her husband Alfred, Patricia Sullivan, Thomas Sullivan and William Sullivan. Brother-in-law of Ann Sullivan of Melrose. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visiting hours were held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Monday, Nov. 19. Procession was from the Gately Funeral Home on Tuesday, Nov. 20, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, 9 Herbert St., Melrose. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
