RALEIGH, N.C. — Harriet T. Chaplin died March 28, 2018.

Born in 1921, in Springfield, Mass., to Hattie and Albert. Graduated Melrose (Mass.) High School and subsequently Nasson College, Maine.

She married high school classmate Donald H. Chaplin in 1945, a career combat pilot in the USAF and then inspection pilot for the FAA. Harriet was very active with the Audubon Society, Nashua Camera Club, and Beaver Brook Association. She was celebrated for her nature walks and knowledge of native flora and fauna.

Harriet is predeceased by daughter Susan and husband Don. She is survived by son Steven and wife Linda, daughter Judith and husband Harold, sister-in-law Virginia and husband Clarence, grandsons Bruce, Brian, and Nicholas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private service only. A celebration of her life will take place at Beaver Brook Association, Hollis, N.H., on May 20.
