MELROSE — John A. Glionna, 76, of Melrose died on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Malden on August 16, 1941, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rose (Amirault) Glionna.

Mr. Glionna was a graduate of Malden High School, Class of 1960. He had been a Melrose resident for the past 44 years. Mr. Glionna had served in the United States Coast Guard.  He was a professional driver for Boston Coach Company.

Mr. Glionna is survived by his wife Diane (Tuttavilla) Glionna, his son Gregory Penta of Melrose, his daughter Rachael Glionna of Melrose, his two brothers; Joseph Glionna and his wife Joyce, and Raymond Glionna and his wife Teresa all of Malden, and his sister-in-law Mary Glionna of Bedford. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and special friends. Mr. Glionna was predeceased by his brother George Glionna.

His funeral was held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Monday, October 2 and was followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 46 Myrtle St., Melrose. Entombment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
