A music lover who enjoyed traveling with his family

MELROSE — John J. “Jack” Wooldridge, 88, a resident of Melrose since 1971, passed away on January 1, 2022. He was born in Randolph, Mass. on August 19, 1933 to John William and Margaret (McEachern) Wooldridge.

John served is country in the United States Air Force following high school; he was based in Alaska much of that time. He would go on to graduate from Northeastern University and work as an electrical engineer for MITRE Corp, in Bedford, for 36 years.

Jack was happily married for 62 years to “His Girl” Rosemarie Mili. He enjoyed traveling with his family to National Parks, spending time up on the Maine coastline, and down to Cape Cod. He had great interest in the “Old West” enjoying the Classic Western Movies and Television. Jack had a love for music, played acoustic guitar and enjoyed pulling the family together to jam.

He is survived by his wife Marie Mili Wooldridge of 62 years; his son, John Jay Wooldridge and his husband, Patrick Flaherty, of Fort Lauderdale /Provincetown; his daughter, Lori Glassford and her husband, Robert Glassford, of Las Vegas. Also survived by relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers those who wish to remember Jack in a special way please make a gift in his name to the National Park Service at nps.gov.
