LACONIA, N.H. — Judith “Judy” Ellen Donahue, 65, of Laconia, N.H., formerly of Melrose, peacefully passed away on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, surrounded by her family.

Judy was born on March 18, 1955, in Melrose, the daughter of the late Robert and Marion (Stickney) Howe.

Judy worked as a hairdresser for over 40 years and served her clients well. She also worked for the Woburn Nursing Center for many years in medical records and activities. She enjoyed mothers’ weekends, Siesta Key, and everything “Wizard of Oz.” Her favorite place was Lake Winnipesaukee, where she could often be found enjoying a Bud Light in a room temperature glass.

Judy loved dancing and singing, and nothing brought her more joy than live music — especially music of the ‘60s. She was blessed with many close friends, including the “Tribe,” and would never miss a karaoke night to show off her voice by singing Patsy Cline.

Judy is survived by her loving husband, Scott Donahue of Laconia, N.H., and her five siblings: Janet Rain of Gilford, N.H., Jeffrey Howe of Revere, Joyce Anderson of Nashua, N.H., Joanne Todisco of Revere and David Howe of Hooksett, N.H.

She will live on through her children, Justin Donahue and his wife Julie of Marlborough, Robert Donahue and his wife Ashley of Sanbornton, N.H., Lisa Donahue and her wife Erin of Great Barrington, and Laura Donahue of Danvers. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Jackson Donahue and James Donahue, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Judy was predeceased by her niece Andrea Lyn Rain and her beloved dog Caseypup.

Due to COVID-19, a Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
