MELROSE — Kristen Marie (Lynch) Fennelly, 50, passed away peacefully at home on July 18, 2019 after a long illness.

Kristen was born on March 2, 1969. She grew up in Melrose, graduating from Melrose High School in 1987 and Middlesex Community College in 1991 with her asociates degree in Business. Kristen went on to work as a clinic manager for Riverside Outpatient Center in Wakefield for many years.

Kristen was the proud mother of two devoted sons, Kevin and Kyle Fennelly of Everett. She was the loving daughter of A. Darlene (Pierson) Lynch and the late William P. Lynch Jr. of Melrose. She was the beautiful sister of Laurie (Lynch) Houle and brother-in-law, Kevin Houle of Hudson, N.H. Kristen also leaves behind her nephew and niece, Ryan and Jillian Houle, also of Hudson, N.H., along with several special aunts and close family friends.

Kristen didn’t need much to make her happy. Her life was centered around her two sons. Kristen always sacrificed in order to do the very best she could for Kevin and Kyle. They were her everything. She beamed with pride and joy whenever she spoke of “her boys.”

Kristen, Kevin and Kyle were a small team of three, but a fierce team they were. Loyalty to their family was first and foremost. Despite Kristen’s many struggles, they always managed to emerge even stronger on the other side due to their deep love and commitment to each other. Their bond was as strong as the ocean is wide, and will remain unbreakable throughout Kevin and Kyle’s lives ahead.

Kristen’s friends describe her as an amazing, compassionate and uplifting woman. Their memories of her are ones full of laughter and silliness. She was never without a smile. Kristen always offered her support to others who needed it, not expecting anything for herself in return.

Over the last several years, Kristen faced a lengthy battle with her health, but Kevin and Kyle were the reason she made it through, time and time again. She was devoted to them and knew they depended on her. This is what lifted her up, allowing her to face each new day with a smile, despite her physical pain. She was a true warrior.

Kristen can now watch her boys continue to make her proud from up above as she joins her father and many other family members and close friends in Heaven. We will forever love you “to the moon and back,” Kristen. Rest in eternal peace.

Visiting hours were held on Thursday, July 25 at Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. A Prayer Service was held during visitation. Burial will be private. To leave an online message of condolence please visit gatelyfh.com.
