A loving family man with great wit and humor

MELROSE — Lawrence Brian “Larry” Doucette, resident of Melrose, passed away on February 3, 2022 at the age of 74. Beloved husband of 39 years to Deborah “Debi” Doucette, and son of Ruth Doucette and the late Charles Doucette.

Born in Medford and raised in Belmont, Larry spent his summers at Camp Cedar Crest alongside life-long friends through his childhood and teen years. Later, Larry worked as an import-export broker at FedEx and was a beloved and dedicated leader of his team. On January 25, 1980, Larry met the love of his life, Debi, at The Black Rose pub in Boston. Larry always said it was love at first sight when Debi walked in. Larry was a devoted and loving father to his daughters, Alanna Doucette Nardone, Alexandra Doucette Saada, and the late Jacqueline Doucette and Jennifer Chute. Many afternoons were spent exploring Boston with both Alanna and Alex; countless Red Sox games, walks through Faneuil Hall and the North End, carrying his girls on his shoulders.

Larry loved spending time with family and friends, hosting cookouts and working the grill. An avid music lover, Larry would curate playlists for his friends and family to enjoy and could talk music for hours on end. He was a man of great wit and humor, always quick with a joke or anecdote. Larry will be remembered for his kindness and warmth, his sparkling blue eyes, his calming presence, and his understanding and supportive nature.

Larry is survived by his wife Debi; his daughter Alanna, her husband Chris, and their children, Jocelyn, Tyler, and Lila; his daughter Alexandra and her husband Raymond; his mother Ruth; his sister Diane Sagarra and her husband Craig; his cousin Michael O’Brien; his nephew Scott Sagarra; and his many cousins, loved ones and friends. He is predeceased by his father, Charles; and two daughters Jacqueline Doucette and Jennifer Chute.
