A kind and caring soul who loved life

MELROSE — Linda (Lucia) Salines passed away peacefully on November 30, at the age of 63, surrounded by her loved ones. Linda was raised in Medford and spent the last 37 years of her life as a proud Melrose resident.

Linda was always an exceptionally hard worker, spending her career as a paralegal in both Boston and Malden. She was always incredibly active and an avid participant in athletics. She played softball (Melrose Moms On The Mound), basketball, soccer and volleyball well into her 50s.

Linda was such a kind and caring soul; always putting others needs before her own. Nothing brought Linda greater joy than spending time with her family. One of her favorite things to do was have her grandchildren over to “Nana’s Kitchen” every weekend where she would cook these extravagant breakfasts that could feed an army.

Linda’s love extended beyond people, as she had such an affinity for her three Boston Terrier’s, Phoenix, Sophie and Emma.

Linda loved life and all of the people who were a part of hers. Although she will be forever missed, her memory will always live on because of all the lives she has touched.

Linda was the beloved wife of 37 years to Robert L. “Rob” Salines. Loving mother of Eric T. Salines and his wife Lauren of North Andover and Kevin M. Salines and his wife Jenny of Wilmington. Proud Nana of Jackson, Crew and Adriana. Cherished sister of Karen Jamerson and her husband John of Wilmington, Charlie Lucia and his wife Carol of Tewksbury, Joanne Haddad and her late husband Albert of Tewksbury and Michelle Padden and her husband Scott of Westford. Loving sister-in-law of Rene and Tom Jamerson of Georgetown, Tom and Lisa Salines of Saugus and the late Michelle Souter. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Monday, December 5, 2022 from 3-7 p.m. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend. Funeral services and interment will be private.
