STONEHAM — Lois M. Squires, 62, of Stoneham, formerly of Melrose, died at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on April 19, 2019.

Lois was the beloved daughter of Joan (O’Brien) Squires of Stoneham and the late Alfred E. “Jack” Squires Jr. Loving sister of Edward J. Squires of Stoneham, Catherine A. Robbins and her husband of Wakefield, and Susan L. Symes of Fitchburg. Cherished aunt of Jessica L. Symes, Laura J. Goodrich, Lisa M. Robbins, Diana C. Robbins, and Michael S. Robbins. Caring Godmother to Jessica, Lisa, and Michael. Devoted member of St. Mary of the Annunciation in Melrose and St. Patrick Parish in Stoneham.

Lois was an avid reader with a contagious laugh. She enjoyed camping, horseback riding, and gardening. Loved watching movies with her family. Lois graduated from Melrose High School in 1974 and continued her education at the vocational school in Wakefield. Employed as a supervisor in the data center at Boston Children’s Hospital for over 40 years. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Friday April 26 from 4 – 7 p.m. Funeral procession from Gately Funeral Home on Saturday, April 27 at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, 9 Herbert St. Melrose. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Church, 46 Myrtle St. Melrose, MA 02176.
