MELROSE — Mary A. (Burrill) Bogan, 86, resident of Melrose, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 26, 2019 at her home.

Born in Boston on February 20, 1933, Mary is one of two children of the late Edwin and Mary (Davis) Burrill.

Mary was a woman full of life, love, and warmth. She was dedicated to her husband William, and her children and grandchild. She was their biggest cheerleader.

Crossword puzzles, reading, watching a good film, and going out to lunch with family were some of Mary’s favorite activities. She was devoted to her church and was a proud member of the Women’s Guild at Most Blessed Sacrament.

The strength and love Mary radiated will be missed by her dear family and her friends.

Mary is the beloved wife of the late William B. Bogan with whom she shared 54 years of marriage. Loving mother of James P. Bogan and his wife Virginia of Salina, Kan., Rosanne L. Burton and her husband Lambert of Wakefield, and the late Kevin A. Bogan. Dear sister of Dolores Shephard and her late husband Donald. Cherished grandmother of Laura C. Burton. Also survived by her nieces Dawn D’Alelio and her husband Edward, and Maura Shephard.

Relatives and friends gathered in honor of Mary’s life during visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Wednesday, August 28 and again on Thursday before leaving in procession to Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield for her funeral Mass. Interment was in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
