Enjoyed summers at the N.H. lakes, baseball and golf

MALDEN — Nicholas William Wofsey, 26, of Malden, died unexpectedly, July 26, 2019.

Nicholas will always be remembered as a funny, kind and unique person. He loved spending his summers up at the lakes of New Hampshire with his family and best friends where he would boat, tube and jet ski until the sun went down. He would love adventuring down to Revere beach and eat Bianchi’s pizza on the beach wall or going down to Woodman’s for a large clam plate and steamers.

In high school, Nick loved to play baseball and golf. Golf, especially, was his favorite because it was something he could do with his father outside of school and just enjoy with his best friend. He also spent most of his days in high school at the auto shop with his favorite teacher where he could express his love for cars.

In the winters, Nick loved skiing and always dreamed of going out to Colorado and Utah. Aside from everything else, Nicholas’ true passion in life has always been history. He was so incredibly gifted and we will always remember the many nights of watching Jeopardy and just being amazed at the knowledge one person could retain. He was someone that just loved to learn but also loved to teach. Nick was always happy with what he had in life and could see the true value in anyone and anything.

He had the best smile and big blue eyes that could light up any room. Nick will always be our bones, our patches, our chewbacca and our Nicky. The countless memories that we all share with him will never be forgotten.

Nicholas was the beloved son of Russell and Christine (Riley) Wofsey. Loving brother of Marissa E. Wofsey and her fiancé Scott Shreenan. Cherished grandson of Mary E. Dusz, Edwin Wofsey and the late Donald I. Dusz and the late William and Helen Riley. Cherished nephew of his predeceased uncle, Billy Riley and survived by Janet Riley, Joe and Sheila Vetere, Dan and Corinne Riley, David and Colleen DiCecca, Terry and Tina Riley, Brian and Ellen Riley, Douglas and Diane Wofsey, Sherri Weeks, Shri and Julie Rao.  Also survived by numerous cousins, family members and friends.

Visitation will be held at Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Friday August 2 from 4-7 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
