MELROSE — Paul Francis Sexton, 72,  passed away at the Lahey Hospital Center in Burlington on December 14, 2018.

Paul was born in Somerville on March 2, 1946 to the late Francis and Mary (Nagle) Sexton. He was raised in Somerville, graduated from St. Clements Grammar School and St. Clements High School, Class of 1963. He was raised in Somerville and has been a resident of Melrose for the past 40 years.

He served his country with pride in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Paul worked as a postal clerk for 47 years at the Incoming Mail Center in Chelsea, at the South Boston Postal Annex and finished his career at the Lexington Post Office. He enjoyed hunting from his hunting cabin in the Northern part of Maine, was an avid reader, a history buff and loved Irish music. Paul also was a huge Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins fan.

Mr. Sexton was the beloved husband of 40 years to Michele (Belanger) Sexton. Loving father of Adrian B. Sexton of New York City. Caring brother of David Sexton of Fla., Margaret Russell of Conn. and Denise Crowe of Westwood. Loving brother-in-law of James and Dorreen Dolan and Kevin and Susan Belanger. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Thursday, December 20, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, 9 Herbert St. Melrose. Interment with military honors at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose. US Army Vietnam Era Veteran.
