MALDEN — Paul Walter Dineen, 77, of Malden, passed in his sleep at The Lighthouse Nursing Care Center in the early hours of Sept 1, 2021 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease followed by dementia.

Paul was born on March 24, 1944 to his loving parents Walter and Jean Dineen of Wakefield. He attended Melrose public schools throughout his childhood and was a graduate of Melrose High School. Paul went on to marry his high school sweetheart, Maureen Bailey, and they were able to enjoy 50 plus years of marriage and memories. In that time Paul and Maureen gave life to three children who Paul is survived by: Jeffrey Dineen, Christopher Dineen and Sarah Dineen-Broderick. He will also be missed dearly by his two beautiful grandchildren Emily and Kylie Dineen.

Paul worked for the U.S.P.S. for 35 years and spent most of that time delivering mail and building friendships with his customers on Mystic Avenue in Medford. After retiring from the Postal Service, Paul followed his passions of Corvette’s, golf, and landscape art. He was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan and loved nothing more than sitting on the couch and watching the “Bosox” with Maureen. He will be missed by many!

Two things Paul would always tell you is that:

“If you are not the lead dog, then the view never changes,” and “Time is only important when you are serving it.”

To the staff and family at The Lighthouse Nursing Care center in Revere our family will retain your memory in our hearts forever. Thank you would not do justice for all that you have done for Paul and his family.

Paul was the beloved husband of Maureen Anne (Bailey) Dineen. Loving father of Jeffrey P. Dineen of Billerica; Christopher P. Dineen and his wife, Nadine Preston, of Wilmington and Sarah E. Dineen-Broderick and her husband, Michael, of Nashua, NH. Proud grandfather of Emily and Kylie Dineen.
