READING — Peter P. Frasca, 89, of Reading, formerly of Melrose and Revere, died at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading on Oct. 14, 2017.

Peter was born and raised in Revere. After graduating from Revere High School in 1945, he served in the Army, then went on to Boston College from which he graduated in 1951 with a degree in Physics. Peter was a long-time resident of Melrose, where he lived for over 30 years, and then Reading, where he lived for the past 28 years. He worked as a physicist and an engineer in the early days of the computer industry for a variety of companies including General Electric in Lynn, Boeing Airplane in Waltham, Sanders Associates in Nashua and Systems Architects in Avon, and took pride in his contributions in developing the first computer-based airline reservation system.

Peter enjoyed bike riding, swimming, sailing, spending time at the beach, and listening to live music. He loved his children and was particularly proud of the achievements of his grandchildren, whom he adored.

He was the beloved husband of Josephine L. (Gianino) Frasca for 64 years. Loving father of Ritamarie Macadino and her husband Anthony of Reading and Robert Frasca and his wife Arleen of Melrose.  Cherished grandfather of Caitlin and her husband Erik, Vittoria, Madeleine and Gerard. Caring brother of the late Clementina Sudak and Vincent Frasca. Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visiting hours were held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Thursday, Oct. 19.  Procession from the Gately Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 20 at 8:45a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 10 a.m. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend.
