MELROSE — Richard E. Law, of Melrose, passed away on October 3, 2017 at the age of 80.

He was born in Vallejo, CA on May 15, 1937 to Richard and Florence (Smith) Law. Richard’s father was in the Navy, so he spent much of his childhood living in different places depending on where his father was stationed.

He eventually moved to Melrose, and lived there for over 50 years.

Richard served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

He was a retired technician from Hewlett Packard.

Richard was the nephew of John E. Smith of Wakefield, the late Robert Smith, James Smith, Gertrude Regan, Evelyn Crosby, Catherine Edna Walsh, and Mildred Kimball.

A prayer service wwas held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose at 12 noon on Tuesday, October 10.

Interment to follow the Prayer Service at the Billerica Fox Hill Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
