THE MELROSE High boy’s soccer team split Freedom League play last week with a loss and tie against Wakefield and Burlington, respectively. It was a nail biter against the 10-1-1 Warriors with Melrose’s Ali Abidi scoring twice and Aiden Murphy once, scaring league champ Wakefield. Days later Melrose battled to a tie against the Red Devils thanks to a goal from Owen Brodeur. Melrose keeper Owen Brown manned both games. JV picked up a nice win, 4-1. Tonight, Melrose will compete in Soccer Night at Fred Green Field against Wilmington. (photo by Raj Das, edphotos.com)
