An excellent authentic cook whose food was loved by all

MELROSE — Mary A. (Froncioni) Fortucci, 96, of Melrose, passed away on December 18th, 2021. She was born in Quebec, Canada on June 3, 1925 to the late Joseph and Anne (Fasoli) Froncioni. She was raised in Quebec and attended school there before coming to the United States.

She was the beloved wife of the late Carlo Fortucci. Loving mother of the late Robert Fortucci and the late Patricia Wojcik. Proud grandmother of Carla, Robert and Josh; also survived by two great-grandchildren. Sister of Christine Bean, Rita Froncioni and the late Robert Froncioni.

Mary and her late husband, Carlo, raised their family in Revere, where they lived for many years. She also lived in Boston, and in Melrose for the last 20 years at the Steele House. Mary volunteered as bookkeeper at the Steele House for many years, for bingo and other events. She was fluent in both French and Italian. Mary was a fantastic authentic cook in her kitchen and her personality and food were loved by all.

Visiting hours were held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021 from 9 – 11 a.m. A funeral service was held at Gately Funeral Home immediately following the visiting hours at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, 302 Elm St., Everett.
