WAKEFIELD — Michael A. Racamato, 86, a longtime resident of Wakefield, died Tuesday, August 24, at the MelroseWakefield Hospital.
Born in Everett on June 23, 1935, he was the son of the late Peter and Marion (Moffi) Racamato.
Michael was raised and educated in Wakefield. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. A talented self-employed mason and house builder, he mentored many young people who were interested in the building trade. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, woodworking and tinkering with all types of gadgets.
Michael is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Joseph and Louis Racamato and his sister Geraldine Racamato.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Wednesday September 8, at 10 a.m.
Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery Wakefield.
