OBIT_Cascio,-Michael-webBEDFORD — Michael C. Cascio passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, following a lengthy and valiant struggle with colon cancer. He was 50 years of age.

Born and raised in upper state New York, he came to live in the Boston area where he attended Northeastern University and graduated in June of 1988 with a bachelor of science degree. He went on to pursue a master’s degree in science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, graduating in 1992. He was associated with the Vestas Technology Corporation and BAE Systems as a mechanical engineer. For the past five years he was a principal engineer for MITRE Corp. of Bedford where he excelled in his performance and accomplishments as a leader.

Michael not only was blessed with a strikingly handsome appearance, but also was a brilliant presence among his peers. At his profession he shared many friendships. No other aspect of his personage or his life duties and responsibilities were as important to him than that of being a Dad. For the past seven years, Michael shared his life in matrimony with his loving wife Cindi A. (Giugliano) Cascio. And five years ago, God granted Cindi and Michael the gift of a daughter, Jill Carol Ann Cascio. His daughter was the center of his life and the joy of his existence.

Michael was the beloved son-in-law of Salvatore and Gilfroia “Jill” (Sacco) Giugliano of Lynnfield. He was the dear brother-in-law of Antoinette G. Giugliano and her husband Ty Istanbullu and Steven S. Giugliano, all of Lynnfield. He was the adoring uncle to Giuliana, Alaina, Salvatore and Stefano. He was the cherished son of Thomas Bell Cascio of Florida and Carol A. (Michalski) Cascio of New York. He is lovingly survived by his brother, Marc C. Cascio of Southborough and his sister, Mercedes M. Cascio of Wellington, Fla., and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

His funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Lynnfield on Thursday, March 17. Interment took place in the family estate lot at Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield.
